Cristiano Ronaldo Just Set Another Unbelievable Record That May Never Be Broken
Cristiano Ronaldo has been part of the game’s landscape for so long that it’s easy to forget how unusual his career really is. Players aren’t supposed to last this far into their late thirties with the same relevance they had in their twenties, let alone keep setting marks that bend the record books.
And yet, just when it feels like he has nothing left to prove, he finds a way to surprise us all over again.
The Newest Milestone: First to Score 100 Competitive Goals for Four Clubs
Ronaldo’s latest record came during the Saudi Super Cup final in Hong Kong. With Al Nassr battling Al Ahli, the 40-year-old stepped up to the penalty spot.
It made Ronaldo the first player in football history to score 100 competitive goals for four different clubs. Al Nassr eventually lost the match in a shootout, but by then the record had already been made.
Stats That Don’t Even Sound Real
Breaking the 100-goal mark at one club is tough enough. Doing it four times is absurd. Ronaldo hit 145 goals for Manchester United across two spells, then set a record-breaking 450 for Real Madrid. He added 101 with Juventus in Italy and now has 100 for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
He even chipped in five goals for Sporting Lisbon as a teenager before the whole world knew his name. There’s also his 138 for Portugal, which makes the total out to nearly 1,000 goals.
Why Messi Won’t Catch This One

The Ronaldo versus Lionel Messi debate will probably go on forever, but this milestone isn’t up for argument.
Messi’s incredible 672 goals for Barcelona remain one of the greatest scoring runs ever, and he’s delivered more at Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Miami. Still, only Barcelona saw him past 100.
Unless he suddenly switches clubs and lights up the scoreboard deep into his career, he won’t get close to Ronaldo’s four-club century. This is one category where the gap is too wide to close.
More Records On The Shelf
The 100-goal landmark adds to a collection already stacked beyond reason.
Ronaldo is the all-time top scorer in the Champions League with 140 goals. He’s the highest scorer in men’s international football, with 138 for Portugal. He’s also the only player to score 50 or more goals in six straight seasons, and he’s won every trophy available at both Manchester United and Real Madrid.
The list is so long that fans sometimes forget half of it. And now, he’s added a new one that may remain untouched for decades.
Still Writing The Story

Ronaldo isn’t slowing down either. He signed a contract extension with Al Nassr in June 2025 that runs through 2027, worth around £500 million. That means three more years of chances to score, celebrate, and push his career tally even higher. If he does pass the 1,000-goal milestone, it’ll be one more record to add to his legendary career.
