Amazing Parkour and Freerunning Photos That'll Blow Your Mind
Parkour, aka freerunning, is essentially a training discipline that involves getting from one point to another in the fastest and most efficient way possible — whether it be by running, climbing, swinging, catapulting or whatever other creative movement you can dream up.
With roots in martial arts and military obstacles, parkour was established by David Belle in Frace in 1988. While it can be practiced anywhere, the more complex the environment, the more skill is required.
In early July, 18 competitors showcased their parkour talents on the international stage by freerunning at the Red Bull Art of Motion 2021 tournament set on two Mediterranean yachts converted into a floating "track" in the middle of the Greek harbor of Mikrolimano, Piraeus. Here are photos of athletes from the event as well as others who have proven that freerunning is indeed a sport that tests the limits of any athlete.
