The 10 Most Amazing Records in World Juniors History
The IIHF World Junior Championship is where some of hockey’s strangest and most impressive records live. Each winter, teams of under-20 players face off with national pride on the line, and sometimes, the numbers that come out of those games are hard to believe.
These records tell stories of big wins, odd twists, and young players doing things no one expected them to.

In 1993, Peter Forsberg racked up an eye-popping 31 points in just seven games for Sweden. He torched Japan with ten points in a single outing, a game Sweden won 20–1. No one has come remotely close since, partly because today’s matchups rarely produce such lopsided blowouts.

Winning even one World Juniors gold is tough, but Jason Botterill did it three times. He made Team Canada’s roster in 1994, 1995, and 1996, an unusual feat due to most top players graduating early to the NHL. He remains the only player to win three golds at the tournament.
