All the Bizarre New Foods People Can Buy at an NHL Game
Hockey season always brings fresh ice, new lineups, and packed arenas. But this year, the real show might be happening at the concession stands. Across the NHL, teams are launching food items that are more like experiments, including Sword-shaped beer cups, two-foot sandwiches, popcorn mixed with chocolate, and Pop-Tarts.
The 2025–26 season has made eating at a hockey game part of the entertainment.
Buffalo’s Beer Sabre Swings for the Win
In Buffalo, fans can drink out of a sword. The Sabres’ new Beer Sabre is a plastic blade filled with Labatt Blue & Blonde Ale. To go with it, the team offers the Big Parm Thompson, a two-foot chicken parm sandwich modeled after Tage Thompson’s pregame meal.
There’s also The Tage Hero, stacked with Italian meats and cheeses, and The French Connection, a triple-decker French toast sandwich that honors a legendary 1970s Sabres line. Buffalo’s lineup is unapologetically over-the-top.
Sharks Go Sweet and Savage
The San Jose Sharks have introduced the Chum Bucket, a snack that looks like it escaped a candy store. It includes buttered popcorn drenched in teal and red chocolate, and topped with strawberry Pop-Tart chunks and freeze-dried strawberries.
It’s colorful, that’s for sure, even if it’s a bit hard to define. Plus, the sugar-loaded treat is served in a shark-branded bucket.
New Jersey Brings the Garlic and the Gimmick
At Prudential Center, the New Jersey Devils are serving garlic knots in a goalie mask. It’s a clever, carb-heavy snack that combines team spirit and comfort food in one go. The Devils also introduced new fan-inspired items, including bacon jam, grilled cheese, and pulled pork nachos.
Carolina’s Hot Chicken and Sup Dogs Take Over

The Carolina Hurricanes are turning their arena food into high-end food with Willy’s Hot Chicken, a collaboration with team legend Justin Williams. Fans can choose the spice level of their tenders and sliders, which are coated in sauces powered by Texas Pete, the team’s official hot sauce.
Another standout is Sup Dogs, the Greenville favorite, which now offers gourmet hot dogs and their signature vodka drinks like Sup Crush. In the new Lenovo Legend Club, fans can get a premium spread featuring hand-rolled sushi, rotating desserts, and even a coffee station.
Columbus Goes Experimental
The Columbus Blue Jackets are celebrating their 25th season by reinventing arena food. The Mediterranean Nachos layer shawarma chicken and feta on pita chips, while the CBJ vs. East Coast Nacho splits toppings between Midwest and East Coast flavors.
Vegans get the Sloppy “No”, a Korean-style plant-based sandwich, and meat lovers can go for the 61 Stack, a smash burger dripping with bistro sauce. Dessert lovers can indulge in CBJ Cream Puffs or Dessert Nachos loaded with fruit and whipped topping. The creativity extends to Puck Luck Pretzels and Barbacoa Tacos.
St. Louis Mixes Comfort and Class

The St. Louis Blues went for variety with their new Gastropub stand, which offers steak sandwiches, honey-stung chicken tenders, and loaded tater tots.
Local favorites like Rosalita’s Cantina and Ramblin’ Rounds Mini Donuts are expanding, with flavors ranging from Tex-Mex classics to French toast-style donuts. The Wok Stand refreshed its menu with crab rangoon and General Tso’s chicken, while bars across the arena now feature rotating non-alcoholic mocktails like the Blueberry Mojito and Ginger Rose Fizz. Enterprise Center’s menu reads like a restaurant lineup.
